BIG3 Players, Execs and Fans Held an Epic Live Tweet This Week

July 19 17

Social Roundup: Week 4 in the BIG3 Players, coaches and front-office execs participated in a massive Tweet-along during Monday night’s broadcast of the BIG3 games from Philadelphia. Here are some of the highlights: Naturally, BIG3 co-founder Ice Cube kicked things off.

--- Tweet-along or not, you won’t get too far on Twitter without seeing our guy Michael Rapaport chirping about BIG3. Of course, he’s also TV’s greatest sideline reporter!

--- Xavier Silas made his debut with the Ball Hogs Sunday night after being involved in the league’s first-ever trade. Along with this video on Instagram, here was his apparent reaction to the trade: “You can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails to reach your destination.”

The BIG3 can get pretty physical, so Cube offered some sound advice to his players.

--- Cube was courtside with LL Cool J, and the BIG3’s official Twitter account posted this clip of the pair. FYI, it only seems as if LL Cool J has been courtside at the BIG3 games all four weeks this season. LL clarified this in a reply Monday night…

--- Kendall Gill made his BIG3 debut Sunday night with Power, playing alongside Jerome “Junkyard Dog” Williams. Gill and JYD were teammates with the Chicago Bulls in 2003-04 – and they’ll be together again in Chicago this Sunday.

--- Speaking of JYD, the dude really does like to bark. And he didn’t think twice Monday night about trash-talking with one of his new bosses, BIG3 CEO Amy Trask.

--- One more on JYD – this one from BIG3 co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz. No one has more respect and admiration for the BIG3’s players than Kwatinetz, who watches every game up close from the scorer’s table.

--- Respect for 3-Headed Monsters captain Rashard Lewis from Killer 3s co-captain Stephen Jackson. Lewis and Jackson combined for 54 of the 97 points scored Sunday night in 3HM’s 51-46 win.

--- The Ball Hogs lost a tough one to BIG3 powerhouse Trilogy, but coach Rick Barry assured his fans they’ll be ready to roll in Week 5.

--- Co-captain Josh Childress isn’t making excuses for the Ball Hogs’ loss, but he does have a point about the size he gives up in a matchup against Trilogy co-captain Al Harrington. Josh Childress – weight difference w/ Harrington

--- Of course, with Stevenson, Lewis, Mobley and Jackson having breakout nights, Fantasy players had a lot to celebrate.

--- Great video from @BIG3 of the Battle of Philadelphia – Allen Iverson’s 3’s Company vs. Dr. J’s Tri-State.

-- Don’t forget to tune in Monday, July 24 on FS1 to see all the action from Week 5 in Chicago.
