Big 3

The BIG3 has its fair share of big men who will be crashing the boards when the new professional 3-on-3 league tips off on June 25 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Kenyon Martin and Charles Oakley are two guys who definitely stand out. Those two won’t face each other until Aug. 13, when Martin’s Trilogy plays Oakley’s Killer 3s at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The question is: Will Kmart and Oak go head-to-head before the season even begins?

When the launch of the BIG3 was announced in January, there was a promise that “gameday” would be something truly special – an event where fans could be closer than ever to the superstars of the game. That will be the case for all fans attending BIG3 games at any of the 10 locations this summer, but it can be taken to the next level with one of three exclusive VIP Experiences that are being offered.

Last weekend, some of the best and most respected basketball players in the world flew into Las Vegas to take part in the BIG3 Draft Weekend. Some were confirmed player captains (like Chauncey Billups, Stephen Jackson, Jason Williams and Brian Scalabrine), some were coaches (like retired legends Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Gary Payton and Clyde Drexler), while most were recent NBA standouts ready to show that they deserve to get back on the court.

The NFL isn't the only league with a draft coming up this month. Julius Erving and Allen Iverson have some work to do, too.

The newly-formed BIG3 three-on-three league will hold the first player draft for its eight teams on April 30 in Las Vegas. Iverson is a player, captain and coach for 3's Company. Erving is the coach of Tri-State.
