Before Trilogy and the 3-Headed Monsters were to play for the inaugural BIG3 Championship on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, the Ghost Ballers defeated Power in a consolation game to decide third place.
Ricky Davis led all scorers with 22 as the Ghost Ballers built a 5-point halftime lead and never looked back. Power hung tough and led for a good portion of the first half, thanks to a very strong effort from Jerome Williams and the 3-point shooting of DeShawn Stevenson. But the trio of Davis, Ivan Johnson and Ghost Ballers captain Mike Bibby proved too much.
Bibby, who led the BIG3 this season in assists, continued his mastery of dishing to teammates, with a game-high 6 assists in this game. After Bibby fed Johnson for a jumper that made it 49-39, Bibby pulled down a defensive rebound and got the ball out to Davis, who hit a 3-pointer for the game-winner.
Jonson and Bibby both finished with 13 points for the Ghost Ballers. Williams and Stevenson combined for 36 of Power’s 39 points. As he did in the first game against the Ghost Ballers in Week 4, Williams had another double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds).
The Ghost Ballers finished the season with a 5-5 record. Power finished 4-6.
