Calvin Murphy is a Basketball Hall of Famer and Houston Rockets legend who built a remarkable NBA career despite standing just 5-foot-9. Drafted 18th overall out of Niagara University in 1970, Murphy spent his entire 13-year NBA career with the San Diego/Houston Rockets, earning an NBA All-Star selection and becoming one of the franchise’s all-time great scorers and playmakers.
Known for his toughness, quickness, and elite free-throw shooting, Murphy was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993. He is now entering his second season as a coach in the BIG3, continuing to share his basketball knowledge and leadership with the next generation of players.
