Entering his first season in the BIG3, Chris “Birdman” Andersen was taken with the fourth overall pick in the 2018 draft.
After one year at Blinn Junior College, where he led the National JC Athletic Association in blocks, Andersen played professionally in China for a year before returning to the States. His NBA career began in 2001 with the Denver Nuggets, and he also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers. Andersen signed with the Heat in 2013 and played a key role in helping Miami win the 2013 NBA Championship. He shot 15-for-15 in the Eastern Conference Finals, and set an NBA Playoffs record with a FG percentage of 80.7 for the postseason. In 695 career NBA games, Andersen averaged 5.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
