After serving as co-captain of 3’s Company last season, DerMarr Johnson has been promoted to captain in 2018. Johnson had a solid debut season in 2017, when he was fifth in the league in minutes played (219). He finished seventh in the league in 3-pointers (12) and tied for third in 4-pointers (3).
After attending the University of Cincinnati, Johnson was the sixth overall pick of the Atlanta Hawks in the 2000 NBA Draft. In two seasons with the Hawks, he averaged 7.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. In September 2002, Johnson sustained serious injuries in a car accident. However, after a full recovery he moved on to the ABA’s Long Beach Jam, where he played 19 games before signing a contract with the Knicks in his return to the NBA. After that, Johnson played overseas for half a decade.
