After helping the 3-Headed Monsters reach the BIG3 title game last season, Kwame Brown was named one of the team’s two carryover players for 2018. Brown was one of just nine players in the league to start every game last season. He finished fourth in the league in rebounds (54) and recorded a pair of double-doubles (one of just five players with at least two).
Brown played 12 seasons in the NBA, with the Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Bobcats, Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers. He declared for the draft straight out of high school and the Wizards, under then-team president Michael Jordan, made Brown the first overall pick. It was the first time that a player who didn’t go to college was the top pick. In 607 career games, Brown averaged 6.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Brown was a standout at Glynn Academy in Georgia, one of the top high school programs in the country. Recognized as the top high school player in the country, Brown finished his prep career as Glynn’s all-time leader in rebounds (1,235) and blocked shots (605), and second all-time in scoring (1,539 points).
