Drafted in the second round (13th overall) by the Ghost Ballers, Marcus Banks returns to the team he played for in 2017. Banks averaged 5.0 points per game last year, with six 3-pointers.
Banks played college ball at UNLV, where he was the Mountain West Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2003. Later that year, the Memphis Grizzlies took him with the 13th overall pick in the NBA Draft. Memphis promptly traded Banks to the Boston Celtics where he developed his reputation as a strong defender in the NBA. 3’s Company coach Allen Iverson once said that Banks was the toughest defender he’s ever faced. Banks played eight seasons for the Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors. In 348 career NBA games, Banks averaged 5.9 points, 2.1 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game.
