Mario Chalmers will return as the Captain of 3’s Company for the 2023 season.
Chalmers was the 22nd overall pick in the 2019 BIG3 draft. In his rookie season with the 3 Headed Monsters, he tied for second in most 4-pointers made, and was among four players in the league to make more than one 4-point shot. Chalmers also led the 3 Headed Monsters in assists per turnover, with a ratio of 2.6.
Chalmers will forever be a part of NCAA history. In the 2008 NCAA Championship, Chalmers hit the game-tying three for Kansas against Memphis, sending the game into overtime. The Jayhawks went on to win the Championship, and Chalmers was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.
In his rookie year with the Miami Heat, Chalmers led all rookies in steals, averaging two a game, and set a franchise record for steals in a game with nine. That same season, Chalmers was named to the All-Rookie Second Team. The guard went on to play 7 seasons with the Heat, winning two NBA titles. Since leaving the NBA, Chalmers has played in Europe, Puerto Rico, and the G-League as well as the BIG3.
