Entering his first season in the BIG3, Mario Chalmers was taken with the second pick in the third round of the 2019 draft, 22nd overall. Mario Chalmers will forever be a part of Kansas University’s prestigious basketball lore. In the 2008 NCAA Championship, Chalmers hit the game-tying three against Memphis, sending the game into overtime.
Kansas went on to win the Championship, and Chalmers was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.
In his rookie year with the Miami Heat, Chalmers led all rookies in steals, averaging two a game, and set a franchise record for steals in a game with nine. That season Chalmers was named All-Rookie Second Team. The guard went on to play 7 seasons with the Heat, winning two NBA titles. Since he left the NBA, Chalmers has played overseas for Virtus Bologna.
