Entering his first season in the BIG3, Ryan Gomes was taken with the fourth pick in the third round of the 2018 draft, 17th overall.
Gomes played collegiately at Providence College, where he was an All-American as a junior in 2004. The Boston Celtics took him in the second round (50th overall) in the 2005 NBA Draft, and he made a quick impact. Gomes earned a starting job by midseason and went on to earn second-team NBA All-Rookie honors. Over the course of eight seasons, he also played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, L.A. Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder. Playing in the D-League after that, he was named the D-League Impact Player of the Year in 2016. Later that year, he was named assistant coach of the D-League expansion Long Island Nets. In 482 career NBA games, Gomes averaged 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
