Triplets.
Since Triplets Captain Joe Johnson came into the BIG3, the rest of the league has had few answers for the combination of “Iso-Joe” and Hall of Fame Coach Lisa Leslie, who runs as tight a ship as anyone in the league. Johnson won the BIG3 MVP Award in each of his first two seasons in the league, and he’ll be looking for a three-peat in 2022.
The Triplets won it all in 2019 and had a great regular season in 2021, finishing with a 6-2 record. Unfortunately, they fell short in the Semifinals, costing them their chance at back-to-back titles.
Still, Iso-Joe and Coach Leslie will gladly take two championships in three years, and that’s what they have their eye on. Their Co-Captains will be sharpshooting brothers Jannero Pargo, who will be returning to the roster, and Jeremy Pargo, who spent the 2021 season on 3’s Company and has established himself as the unofficial master of the four-point shot during his time in the league.
Rounding out the roster will be high-energy swingman Alonzo Gee and the 7-foot Ryan Hollins, who has been playing above the rim for well over a decade and always leaves it on the court.
With Johnson leading things on the court and Leslie guiding the action from the sidelines, this is a team that could definitely recapture BIG3 Championship gold.
