When Rashard Lewis trotted onto the court Sunday for the first-ever game in BIG3 history, he could feel the magic of the moment. What he saw was a crowd of more than 15,000 in attendance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to witness the debut of the much-anticipated professional 3-on-3 basketball league.

“It gave me chills,” said Lewis. “Almost like that first day of school.”

(NEW YORK) June 20, 2017 — The BIG3 announced today that SPALDING® will serve as the Official Basketball of the BIG3, the professional 3-on-3 basketball league co-founded by producer, actor and music legend Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz. Spalding, the world's largest basketball equipment provider, has gone hand in hand with the game of basketball for more than a century and this new partnership furthers Spalding’s commitment to innovation and the growth of the game.

BIG3, the new professional 3-on-3 basketball league co-founded by Ice Cube, is launching a search for the best and brightest choirs from coast to coast to perform the national anthem throughout its ten week season.

Thanks to Rashard Lewis, a lot of kids around the country this summer will have a chance to see BIG3 games ... for free.

Lewis, player/captain of the 3-Headed Monsters, announced today that he will pay for the ticket of any child (13 or younger) who is accompanied by a paying adult attending games at any of the BIG3’s 10 venues this summer. Lewis made the announcement in a story he wrote for Huffington Post. He explained why it is so important for him to both give kids this opportunity and to reward good role models.
