BIG3, the new professional 3-on-3 basketball league co-founded by Ice Cube, is launching a search for the best and brightest choirs from coast to coast to perform the national anthem throughout its ten week season.
Youth and community choirs wishing to enter should post a video of their finest performance to Twitter using #BIG3CHOIR. The winning choir from each city will be personally selected and notified via twitter by Ice Cube himself.
Games will be televised nationally every Monday night this summer via BIG3’s exclusive broadcast partner Fox Sports 1.
The inaugural season gets underway in Brooklyn at Barclays Center on Sunday, June 25. Subsequent games will take place every Sunday in Charlotte (July 2), Tulsa (July 9), Philadelphia (July 16), Chicago (July23), Dallas (July 30), Lexington (August 6), Los Angeles (August 13) and Seattle (August 20).
The BIG3 championship game will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and broadcast live on Fox, Saturday, August 26.
In addition to singing the anthem before the first game, each choir member will be given two tickets and have the opportunity to take a group photo with Ice Cube (subject to availability).
Whether or not they are chosen to perform, all participating choirs are invited (but not required) to sell BIG3 tickets as a fundraiser for their organization, retaining 30% of the price of the tickets sold.
