Welcome to Week 6 of the Summer of Fire. All six BIG3 games this week will take place on Sunday, so make sure to mark your calendars. As always, we’ve got a great slate of games:
GAME 1 (1:00 EDT on CBS): 3’S COMPANY (2-3) VS. TRILOGY (3-2)
Trilogy are coming off two straight wins behind spectacular performances from Ryan “Hezi God” Carter, who will look to keep his run of stellar play going. 3’s Company are coming off a much-needed win over Bivouac, and are looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. 3’s Company found success when Mario Chalmers got more involved in the offense than he had been previously – will that continue against the defending champs?
GAME 2 (2:00 on CBS): KILLER 3’S (3-2) VS. TRIPLETS (4-1)
The Killer 3’s are coming off a tough loss to Enemies, who were able to stall out their offense by packing the paint and daring Franklin “Frank Nitty” Session to beat them with jumpers. If they want to beat Joe Johnson, Jeremy Pargo, and the rest of the 4-1 Triplets, they’ll have to bring their A-game.
GAME 3 (3:00 on BIG3.COM): ENEMIES (3-2) VS. POWER (4-1)
The Enemies are looking to make a playoff run behind the absurd scoring ability of Jordan Crawford, who’s been on an absolute tear this season. The next step in their journey is a matchup with Power, who have played as well as any team in the BIG3 this season behind a balanced approach built around ball movement and attacking the rim. Will the Enemies’ incredible perimeter shot-making be enough to overcome Power’s size, skill, and crisp passing game?
GAME 4 (3:50 on BIG3.COM): GHOST BALLERS (3-2) VS. 3 HEADED MONSTERS (1-4)
Even though their records would indicate these teams are in two different places, this should be a fun game to watch. The matchup between the Ghost Ballers’ Mike Taylor and 3HM’s Brandon Moss, two of the quickest players in the league, will be absolutely thrilling, and the battles that will take place in the paint between the Ghost Ballers’ talented crew of bigs and human wrecking ball Reggie Evans will be a lot of fun for bully-ball fans.
GAME 5 (4:40 on BIG3.COM): BIVOUAC (2-3) VS. BALL HOGS (3-2)
Bivouac will need to get their shots to go down early and often if they want to beat the Ball Hogs, who will look to wear them down with relentless top-speed movement from the opening whistle. Gerald Green and Co. are capable of getting the job done, but they’ll need to be on their game in order to keep the Ball Hogs’ explosive offense in check.
GAME 6 (5:30 on BIG3.COM): TRI STATE (2-3) VS. ALIENS (0-5)
This is a chance for the Aliens, who have no chance of making the 2023 playoffs, to play spoiler against Tri State, who are still clinging to their own playoff hopes. Look to see how the Aliens adjust their game plan without Janis Timma, who led the team in field goal attempts, out of the lineup.
