Welcome to Week 7 of the Summer of Fire. All five BIG3 games this week will take place on Saturday, so make sure to mark your calendars. As always, we’ve got a great slate of games:
GAME 1 (1:00 EDT on CBS): BALL HOGS (4-2) VS. TRIPLETS (4-2)
The mad dash to the playoffs begins. The Ball Hogs have played phenomenal basketball all season, and look ready to make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. However, standing in their way are Iso-Joe, Jeremy Pargo, and the rest of Lisa Leslie’s Triplets. Will Leandro Barbosa and Jodie Meeks keep the Ball Hogs’ magical season going, or will the Triplets take a big step towards their second BIG3 Championship?
GAME 2 (2:00 on CBS): TRILOGY (4-2) VS. GHOST BALLERS (4-2)
It doesn’t get much better than this. Ryan “Hezi God” Carter is coming off three straight Player of the Week performances, and set a BIG3 record with 35 points last week. Over his last three Games, the Ghost Ballers’ Mike Taylor has scored a combined 56 points on 22-32 shooting from the floor and 12-15 shooting from 3-point range. When you add in the fact that both of these guards love to talk trash, this should be a whole lot of fun.
GAME 3 (3:00 on BIG3.COM): POWER (4-2) VS. KILLER 3’S (4-2)
Power will have the unenviable task of slowing down Franklin “Frank Nitty” Session, who had a monster game in Week 6. If they manage to do that, the odds should be in their favor, although they might need Glen Rice Jr. to have a bit of a bounce-back game.
GAME 4 (3:50 on BIG3.COM): ENEMIES (4-2) VS. 3’S COMPANY (2-4)
This is a chance for 3’s Company to play spoiler. The Enemies have shot the ball well all season, but really seemed to go to the next level when Jordan Crawford started sharing the ball and getting Elijah Stewart involved. 3’s Company, for their part, seem to play better when
Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers are working as a true tandem, so we’ll see if they can share the ball and throw a wrench in the Enemies’ plans.
GAME 5 (4:40 on BIG3.COM): BIVOUAC (2-4) VS. TRI STATE (2-4)
Things haven’t gone according to plan for either team this season, and on Saturday they’ll be playing for pride instead of a real chance to make the 2023 playoffs. Getting pressure on the rim has been a real issue for both of these teams all season, so we’ll see which one will get more looks in the paint when they go head-to-head.
