Welcome to Week 8 of the Summer of Fire. All four BIG3 games this week will take place on Sunday, so make sure to mark your calendars. As always, we’ve got a great slate of games:
GAME 1 (12:00 EDT on CBS): KILLER 3’S (5-2) VS. GHOST BALLERS (4-3)
The last week of the regular season will kick off with a matchup between the Killer 3’s and the Ghost Ballers. The headline here is the matchup between Franklin “Frank Nitty” Session of the Killer 3’s and Mike Taylor of the Ghost Ballers, two point guards who play at warp speed and make it happen on offense for their respective teams.
Make sure to also keep an eye on the matchup between Donte Greene and Chris Taylor, two versatile bigs capable of scoring in a massive variety of ways.
Note: All the 5-2 teams, including the Killer 3’s, will guarantee themselves a playoff spot with a win, while 4-3 teams like the Ghost Ballers will need to win and get a bit lucky to make the postseason.
GAME 2 (1:00 on CBS): TRIPLETS (5-2) VS. POWER (4-3)
What a matchup. Both of these teams have won Championships in the past, and both are led by women in the Basketball Hall of Fame: Triplets Coach Lisa Leslie and Power Coach Nancy Lieberman.
The matchup on the court promises to deliver, as former league MVP Joe Johnson and fellow All-Star Jeremy Pargo will go up against Power’s All-Star duo of 2022 BIG3 Rookie of the Year Glen Rice Jr. and the one and only Royce White. Don’t miss this one.
GAME 3 (2:00 on BIG3.COM): ENEMIES (4-3) VS. TRI STATE (3-4)
This should be a tremendously fun, perimeter-oriented battle between two of the best shooting teams in the league, both of whom are looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. Which sweet-shooting duo will come out on top: the Enemies’ Jordan Crawford and Elijah Stewart, or Jason Richardson and Justin Dentmon of Tri State? It’ll certainly be fun to find out.
GAME 4 (3:50 on BIG3.COM): TRILOGY (5-2) VS. BALL HOGS (4-3)
Finally, two of the best storylines of the season collide. Will the legend of “Hezi God” continue with mid-season addition and BIG3 rookie Ryan Carter saving the defending champs’ season and leading them to the playoffs? Or will the Ball Hogs make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history behind the stellar play of Jodie Meeks and Leandro Barbosa? There really is no league quite like the BIG3.
