The 2021 BIG3 Season continued today with six games of FIREBALL3 action. Here is a breakdown of what happened in all six matchups.
Power 51 vs Ball Hogs 46
The Power get back into the win column in a tightly contested matchup with the Ball Hogs. Royce White and Joe Alexander led the way for Power with 14 points each. Power used their size advantage in the guard positions to dominate the paint. Leandro Barbosa had another big game with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, but it was not enough to take down the Power. Ball Hogs were in it until the end, but the Power intensity was too much to handle. Power and Ball Hogs are both teams to watch for down the stretch this season. The win came at a cost for Power with Cuttino Mobley going down late with an apparent leg injury. Stay up to date on injury news on Twitter and Instagram.

Trilogy 44 vs Triplets 51
In the battle of undefeated teams the Triplets came out on top. Iso Joe led the way again with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. Triplets also had strong contributions from Alan Anderson and Jannero Pargo. Jarrett Jack scored 18 points for the Trilogy, but it wasn’t enough to dethrone the champs. Triplets got out to a lead early and Trilogy battled back, but Joe Johnson was unstoppable down the stretch. Isaiah Briscoe and Jarrett Jack will look to bounce back in week 4 in Dallas. Trilogy and Triplets are both teams that have the potential to battle for a championship in the 2021 BIG3 season.

Tri-State 50 vs Ghost Ballers 42
In a physical battle Tri-State handed the Ghost Ballers their first loss of the season. Jason Richardson led the way for Tri-State to get their second win of the season. Richardson had 22 points and 9 rebounds with a highlight reel dunk from the baseline. The game got heated and intense after a hard, flagrant foul from Larry Sanders on Mike Taylor. Larry Sanders and Mike Taylor were both ejected from the game which came back to hurt the Ghost Ballers because they could have used Taylor’s energy down the stretch. Taylor was ejected for his second technical foul. Taylor had 19 points and 7 rebounds before the ejection. Ghost Ballers also had a bad day from the free throw line only shooting 2-7. The Ghost Ballers will look to bounce back next week and get their second leading scorer Chris Johnson more involved.

3’s Company 46 vs 3 Headed Monsters 50
In a back and forth game the 3 Headed Monsters were able to come away with the victory while shooting 50% from the field. Kevin Murphy led the way for the Monsters with 24 points. Reggie Evans had a double double for the Monsters with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Jeremy Pargo, Mario Chalmers, and Drew Gooden all had double digit points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the 3 Headed Monsters. Pargo led the way with 14 points. Kevin Murphy will be looking to stay hot in week 4 in Dallas so the 3 Headed Monsters can get on a win streak. 3’s Company will look to get back in the win column in week 4.

Killer 3’s 50 vs Aliens 47
Donte Greene closed out the game for the Killer 3’s on a Bring the Fire 1 on 1 challenge. The Killer 3’s avoid starting the season winless while the Aliens are still searching for their first W. Frank Nitty brought the house down with a poster over Jason Maxiell which sparked the Killer 3’s comeback. Donte Greene led the way for the Killer 3’s with 21 points and 4 rebounds. Frank Nitty chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. CJ Watson provided a spark off the bench, scoring 11 points. Brandon Rush led the way for the Aliens with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Rush also made 4 three pointers. The Aliens go into week 4 looking to get into the win column for the first time this season. Killer 3’s are looking to build momentum off the back of a come from behind victory in week 3.

Enemies 50 vs Bivouac 34
The Enemies got a convincing win in week 3 to avoid starting the season winless. Bivouac are still searching for their first win of the season. Josh Smith went down at the end of the first half with an apparent lower leg injury and did not return. Keep up with injury news on Twitter and Instagram. The Enemies had an all around team win with three players in double digits. Perry Jones had a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Nick Young and Elijah Stewart each had 13 points for the Enemies. Perry Jones hit the game winning 4 pointer. Will Bynum led the scoring for Bivouac with 14 points. The Enemies will look to build some momentum going into week 4. Bivouac made two roster changes this week so they will start to build some chemistry ahead of week 4.
