Donte Greene went live on Instagram for an interview today after the Killer 3’s handed the undefeated Triplets their first loss of the season.
When asked about the Killer 3’s mindset going into the game against the Triplets Greene said, “It’s a must win. We’ve been saying that since we lost those first two games. We’re taking it one game at a time of course, but every game is a must win.” The Killer 3’s have won 4 straight games after dropping their first two of the season.
New coach of the Trilogy Stephen Jackson led the Killer 3’s to the BIG3 championship in 2019 and early in the season it was clear Killer 3’s were missing some scoring. “Everyone’s roles grew a little bit bigger. I’ve had to be the versatile guy,” Greene said commenting on how the Killer 3’s had to replace Stephen Jacksons contributions. Donte Greene has made a massive jump this season in the BIG3 averaging 22 points-per-game. Greene also sits in the top 5 in rebounding this season at 8 per game.
On turning the Killer 3’s season around Greene said, “Once we brought back the trust we were rolling. Just having Oak there to support us. He shows that tough love a lot. But he means well. He’s been tremendous for us this year.”
On Thursday at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Killer 3’s had their largest margin of victory this season by 20 over Bivouac. When speaking about how they got off to such a hot start Greene said, “Shooters shoot. You definitely want to keep putting the ball up. Things just ended up happening that way. But like I keep telling everyone, it’s more about the wins for us.”
Killer 3’s sit at 4-2 on the season having won 4 straight games. They currently sit 3rd in the standings on point differential.
