Dušan Bulut makes his BIG3 debut in week 4 fresh off an Olympic Bronze Medal with Serbia in the 3×3 Competition.
Bulut joined BIG3 for an interview to discuss his goals for the BIG3 season.
Bulut starting playing 3 on 3 basketball as a child. “There is no child [in Serbia] who never played 3 on 3 basketball. We don’t play 5 on 5. Usually 3 on 3,” Bulut said. His flashy play style stems from his years of playing 3 on 3 at the highest level.
Bulut decided to join the BIG3 because it is the highest level of 3 on 3 competition in the world. He wants to prove that he is the best 3 on 3 player in the world. “Being part of the BIG3 is a tremendous honor for me. These players that are playing in the BIG3, I had posters of them in my room. And now they’re colleagues and new rivalries. FIBA is maybe the global game, but right at this point BIG3 has more talented players. And for me I just want to live up to my name and see how far I can go. My ultimate dream is to become undisputed champion,” Bulut said. Bulut definitely has the motivation to become a BIG3 champion, so he will look to prove himself in his debut in Dallas in week 4.
Bulut was surprised that he was drafted number 3 overall, but he had spoken to Nancy Lieberman and Cuttino Mobley and obviously left a good feeling with the captain and coach.
Bulut wants to win the BIG3 championship this season. That is his goal. “When you want to do something great, pressure needs to be present. Nothing great ever happened sitting on a beach drinking coffee,” Bulut said. Bulut definitely has the motivation and skill to win a BIG3 championship, now he has to go out there and prove himself.
