“Good first day back in the gym,” tweeted James “Flight” White on Wednesday. Well, it might be his first day back in the gym here in the United States, but it’s not as if he hasn’t been busy ballin’.
White just got back from Iran, where he was playing for Petrochimi Bandar Imam of the Iranian Basketball Super League.
And speaking of super, now that White is back in the states, we’ll soon get to see his high-flying act as he laces up for Trilogy in the BIG3. White just might be one of the greatest dunkers to ever live. White, who starred at the University of Cincinnati and won an NBA title as a rookie with the San Antonio Spurs, earned the nickname “Flight” due to his outstanding leaping ability. And why not? The first time he dunked a basketball was age 12!
White has always impressed teammates and opponents alike with his dunking ability. One of his new BIG3 cohorts might be paying special attention, though.
In White’s old bio on the Cincinnati Bearcats’ basketball site, it’s noted that he has beaten former UC standout DerMarr Johnson in slam dunk competitions.
For the record, 3’s Company co-captain Johnson faces White’s Trilogy squad July 9 in Tulsa. Anyone up for a slam dunk contest that day?
