Ghost Ballers guard Mike Taylor was the first G-League player ever taken in the NBA Draft. Making that kind of jump requires a lot of self-confidence, which Taylor certainly has. Part of that self-confidence expresses itself in words of encouragement to his teammates. Some of that self-confidence expresses itself in…other ways, which is why the BIG3’s players and coaches voted him the Best Trash Talker in the league for the 2022 season.
Taylor’s trash talk is just a byproduct of the way he plays the game, which is to go 100% at all times. When the Ghost Ballers are at their best, they feed off of Taylor’s relentless energy, which puts pressure on the opposing team on both ends of the floor. He’s just so fast, and stays in constant motion.
Given the way he plays, it’s remarkable he has any breath left to talk at all, but he still somehow has enough in his seemingly limitless tank to put additional pressure on the defense with his mouth, which never stops moving and produces some priceless bits of trash-talking goodness.
The Ghost Ballers are one of the most talented teams in the BIG3. If they can make the most of that talent next season and go deep into the playoffs, Taylor’s trash talking may well go to another level. Even if they doesn’t, a mic’d up Taylor will still be one of the most consistently entertaining players in the BIG3, both because of his ability on the court and his prodigious trash-talking skills.
