Top Three DC Tryouts Players Secure Their Spots in the BIG3 Combine

Delonte West, Kevin “Uncle Skoob” Kuteyi, and Artur Labinowicz showed out at Washington D.C. Tryouts

Tryouts in Washington D.C. had some elite competition. Washington D.C. Tryouts started out with one on ones and there was action from the beginning. Kevin “Uncle Skoob” Kuteyi and Andrew Washington were going at it. The trash talk was flying and Uncle Skoob even threw the ball in between a defenders legs, creating an easy layup. Dele Ojo also showed out in one on ones. He showed good physicality on drives to the basket, recording multiple and ones. 

The next stage of Tryouts was three and four point shooting. The top three players in the perimeter shooting were Royce Parran going 26/40, Christian Jackson going 29/40, and Uncle Skoob going 30/40. 

Following the shooting competition was 3 on 3 scrimmages and the All-Star game. Scrimmages were intense. Delonte West showed that he is still crafty with the ball in his hands along with being automatic from mid-range. West also showed good passing ability, setting up an and one for Joshua Arnold. Artur Labinowicz dominated in all aspects of Tryouts. Labinowicz was hitting from the perimeter and showing ability to get to the basket. 

Coached by BIG3 players Donte Greene and Corsley Edwards the All-Star game showcased the best talent at Tryouts. Dustin Salisbury showed a solid mid-range game, hitting a couple contested fade aways. Uncle Skoob kept on impressing during the All-Star game, showing the ability to drive to the basket and knock down shots from the perimeter. 

Kevin “Uncle Skoob” Kuteyi showed out for his combine ticket. The 6’2” guard won the perimeter shooting contest and dominated the scrimmages. Kuteyi played college ball at Chowan University. 

Artur Labinowicz dominated tryouts. He most recently played for the Capital City Go-Go of the G League. The 6’4” shooting guard flew to Washington D.C. from North Carolina for the tryout and said, “I bet on myself” when talking about winning the ticket to the Combine. 

Delonte West proved that he could still ball. He showed crafty handles with an automatic mid-range game. West last played for the Dallas Mavericks in 2011-2012. He also showed some strong defense, getting an impressive block during one on ones.
