The BIG3 2021 season kicked off yesterday with six games featuring all 12 teams in a jam packed day of FIREBALL3 action.
Enemies 46 vs Power 51
The day started with Enemies facing off against Power. The Enemies came into the season with high hopes surrounding a new roster led by Nick Young. Those hopes were cut short yesterday by the experience of Cuttino Mobley from the Power who led his team to a win. He dropped a game high 26 points with 6 three pointers. Isaiah Austin led the way for the Enemies with 24 points and 7 rebounds.
Triplets 51 vs Bivouac 39
The defending BIG3 champions Triplets picked up where they left off in 2019 beating Bivouac in week 1. Captain Joe Johnson led the Triplets in scoring with 27 points and added 12 boards to the stats. Will Bynum had the high for Bivouac with 23 points and 9 boards. Bivouac looks to make a strong impact in week 2 following the loss. The defending BIG3 champs look ready to defend their title and start their dynasty.
Killer 3’s 38 vs Trilogy 50
Killer 3’s and Trilogy was tightly contested in the first half, but the Trilogy pulled away in the second to get the win. First year BIG3 player Isaiah Briscoe was the game high scorer with 28 points and 6 rebounds. It was a one man show for the Killer 3’s on the stat sheet yesterday with Donte Greene leading the way. Greene scored 26 points and had 6 rebounds.
Tri-State 39 vs 3 Headed Monsters 50
Tri-State and 3 Headed Monsters was another tightly contested game in the first half, but the Monsters pulled away in the second half to get the win. Kevin Murphy was the game high scorer with 19 points. His teammate Rashard Lewis had a double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Earl Clark was the high scorer for Tri-State with 14 points.
Ball Hogs 50 vs 3’s Company 41
The Ball Hogs got off to a good start to their season with a win over 3’s Company yesterday. Leandro Barbosa was the game high scorer with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Jodie Meeks followed close behind with 18. Jeremy Pargo led the scoring for 3’s Company with 16 while making two 4 point shots. 3’s Company will look to bounce back in week 2.
Ghost Ballers 51 vs Aliens 45
The last game of week 1 came down to the wire. The Ghost Ballers Co-Captain Mike Taylor led the Ballers with 20 points and 6 assists in the win against Aliens. Chris Johnson also chipped in 19 points and 2 blocks. Renaldo Balkman added a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards in the loss. Ghost Ballers and Aliens have the motivation and skill level to make a playoff run to the Bahamas this season.
