Week 6: Two Teams Can Clinch Playoff Spots As BIG3 Goes to Toronto
By Craig Ellenport July 24, 2018
Players and coaches from the Ghost Ballers, Ball Hogs and Trilogy can all send their thank-you notes to Jamario Moon, care of the 3-Headed Monsters. When Moon hit that 4-pointer to give his team a Week 5 win in front of a packed house at American Airlines Arena in Miami last Friday, it not only clinched a playoff berth for the Monsters. By defeating 3’s Company, it kept slim playoff hopes alive for those other squads.
With three weeks left in the regular season, the undefeated 3-Headed Monsters haven’t clinched the top seed – they still have just a one-game lead on Tri-State and Power. But the general playoff picture is starting to come into place. The top four seeds will play in the first round of the playoffs (Aug. 17 in Dallas).
Heading into this week’s games, here are the current playoff scenarios:
* 3-Headed Monsters (5-0) have clinched a playoff berth (worst-case scenario, they could be tied for fourth with Killer 3s at 5-3, but they defeated the Killer 3s in Week 3)
* Power (4-1) can clinch a playoff berth with a win over Killer 3s
* Tri-State (4-1) can clinch playoff berth with a win over 3’s Company AND a Power win over Killer 3s.
* Trilogy (1-4) could be eliminated IF they lose AND 3’s Company (3-2) beats Tri-State
* Ball Hogs (1-4) could be eliminated IF they lose AND 3’s Company (3-2) beats Tri-State
* Ghost Ballers (0-5) will be eliminated IF they lost to Trilogy OR 3’s Company (3-2) beats Tri-State
The BIG3 will be in Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, on Friday for Week 6. Here’s a quick preview of the action:

He is tied for third in scoring (19.0), fifth in rebounds (7.2), third in assists (3.4) and tied for the lead in 4-pointers (3). … 3’s Company hopes to get back Baron Davis, who missed last week’s game; Davis is tied for third in the league in scoring (19.0) and tied for the lead in 4-pointers (3). … Andre Emmett, who has been one of the league’s top newcomers this season, had 8 rebounds and 4 steals last week, and he also hit his first career 4-pointer.
