Donte Greene stepped into a new role as co-captain of Killer 3’s in the 2021 season. He also stepped up his level of play, taking home the Most Improved Player Award for the 2021 season. Greene was one of two players to average more than 20 points and seven rebounds per game in the 2021 season.
Selected in the second round of the 2019 BIG3 draft, Greene averaged 11.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season. He gave Killer 3s a presence from behind the arc, connecting on 11 of 31 3-pointers for a .355 percentage. He tied for fifth in the league with 11 3-pointers made. Greene had a big game in Killer 3s’ semifinal victory over Power, with a game-high-tying 13 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Born on the United States Air Force base in Munich, Germany, Greene later attended Towson Catholic in Maryland, where he became a McDonald’s All-American and Maryland’s Gatorade Player of the Year. Greene went on to play for Syracuse during his freshman season, where he made the Big-East All-Freshman and Big-East second teams.
Greene was drafted 28th overall in the 2008 NBA draft, spending four seasons with the Sacramento Kings before deciding to play internationally after the 2012 NBA campaign. Greene has since played on international teams, including for Puerto Rico, Lebanon and the Dominican Republic.
