2018 BIG3 Champion and 2013 NBA Champion Chris “Birdman” Andersen entered his second season with the BIG3, but unfortunately went down with a season ending knee injury Week 4 in Providence, RI.
After one year at Blinn Junior College, where he led the National JC Athletic Association in blocks, Andersen played professionally in China for a year before returning to the States. His NBA career began in 2001 with the Denver Nuggets, and he also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Andersen signed with the Heat in 2013 and played a key role in helping Miami win it all. He shot 15-for-15 in the Eastern Conference Finals, and set an NBA Playoffs record with a FG percentage of 80.7 for the postseason. In 695 career NBA games, Andersen averaged 5.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
