Murphy played college basketball at Tennessee Tech, where he played all 4 years. In his senior season he averaged 20.6 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game, including a career-high 50-point game. He was drafted by the Jazz in the second round, and later ended up playing all over the world.
He made an immediate impact in the BIG3 after being taken with the 7th overall pick in the Superdraft. In the 2021 season, he averaged 20.4 points per game for the Three-Headed Monsters, which was the fourth-best mark in the league. Consequently, he took home the BIG3 Rookie of the Year trophy.
He built on that success in 2022. He led the league in scoring and led 3HM to the best regular-season record in the league, and was rewarded with the BIG3 MVP Award. It’s hard not to get excited about what he might do in 2023.
