They got off to an excellent shot behind some hot three-point shooting, but they relied on the deep ball a little too much, and their season hit a lull when their outside shots stopped falling. They ultimately finished with a 3-3 record, and failed to make the postseason.
Team Captain Jason Richardson, who combines the ability to throw down like only a former NBA Dunk Contest Champion can with one of the purest outside strokes in the BIG3, will again be joined by swingman Ray Nixon and Co-Captain Justin Dentmon. Nixon is as solid as they come, and Dentmon makes up for being one of the smallest players in the league with some truly spectacular shotmaking ability – look out for his signature one-footed three-pointer.
New to the team this season will be hyper-athletic forward Devin Ebanks and DeShawn Stephens, who was a breakout star last season with the Aliens and might be the BIG3’s top big men in terms of two-way impact. Tri State could already shoot the lights out – with Stephens controlling the paint on both ends, they could have everything they need for a title run.
