After a wild regular season that came down to the last week of action, four teams will enter the BIG3 playoffs hoping to take home the Championship.
The first matchup will be between TRILOGY and the ENEMIES.
Trilogy finished the season with a 6-2 record, and punched their ticket to the playoffs by defeating the Ball Hogs in Week 8. Trilogy won both the 2022 and 2021 BIG3 Championships, but actually got off to a slow start in 2023, losing two of their first three games. However, the team hasn’t lost since Ryan “Hezi God” Carter entered the team’s starting lineup in week 4, and it’s safe to say the social media sensation has saved their season, especially since Isaiah Briscoe has been out for much of the year.
The Enemies beat Tri State in Week 8 to claim their spot, and have gotten where they are behind the dead-eye shooting of Jordan Crawford and Elijah Stewart. They don’t play a particularly complex brand of basketball – they just pull up and shoot it over their opponents, and it works for them.
The second playoff game will be between the TRIPLETS and the GHOST BALLERS.
After missing the playoffs last season, the Triplets, who won the BIG3 Championship, are back with a vengeance. Leading the way has been Joe Johnson, who missed much of the 2022 season but has returned to MVP form this year. Jeremy Pargo has established himself as a clear #2 option, and Lisa Leslie’s team looks poised to return to the promised land.
In their way will be the Ghost Ballers, who got an upset win over the Killer 3’s in Week 8. The team is led by the cat-quick Mike Taylor, and he’s surrounded by a crew of capable teammates with size and shooting ability to spare.
The regular season was fantastic, and the playoffs promise to be even better, so don’t miss a minute of the remaining BIG3 action.
