MVP of 2019 Joe Johnson joined Will Hanley of the BIG3 for an interview and talked about his thoughts on the upcoming season.
As Season 4 of the BIG3 hits full swing, Triplets Captain Joe Johnson took some time to talk about the changes and improvements to the BIG3. Johnson joined the BIG3 for an interview on the upcoming season.
In week 2 Triplets went head to head against Power, Triplets and power went back and forth but the Triplets managed to pull away in the closing moments. After a full week of Royce White saying he’s “in Joe’s head” on Instagram, Joe Johnson matched up across him in week 2, and didn’t find any problems in scoring. “This had nothing to do with Royce White, I understand what we’re trying to do as Triplets, he made it chaotic throughout the week, just another day at the office.”, Johnson says.
When asked if he thinks he’s the best player in the BIG3. “ No question, I put in the work and a lot of people may think it’s easy,” Johnson says. Iso Joe has been balling out in these first two weeks, pouring in 27 points in week 1 and 34 (a BIG3 single game record) in week 2.
Joe Johnson was named MVP of the BIG3 in 2019 and led the Triplets to a Championship. Fans have started to chime in on who the GOAT is of the BIG3. “ I wouldn’t go that far, I’ll let the fans decide. “ Johnson says.
Joe stills finds ways to keep things light, even in the super physical Fireball league. He says him and Jeremy Pargo have a side-competition going on with who can hit the most 4-pointers this season. “ We’ve had this 4 point discussion and right now he’s running away with it, so I gotta try to catch him.” Joe has only made one 4-point shot this year, while Pargo has drained 5 so far, including 4 this past week.
Joe Johnson has been named Player of the Week for the second week in a row and will face the upstart Trilogy this weekend.
