Tri State.
Tri State had a tremendous 2021. Led by Captain Nate Robinson, the team went 6-2 on the year, and finished with the best point differential in the league. Things didn’t go quite according to plan in the playoffs, as Tri State lost in the semifinals to eventual Champions Trilogy, but they did manage to win the consolation game against Triplets to claim the third-place prize.
Robinson has moved on to a broadcasting role this season. Replacing him as Captain will be dunk contest champion, three-point assassin, and all-around tremendous player Jason Richardson, who spent 13 years in the NBA. His Co-Captains will be Justin Dentmon, one of the best pure shot-makers in the league, and reigning BIG3 Defensive Player of the Year Larry Sanders, who may be the best all-around rim protector in league history.
Earl Clark and Tony Wroten will not return to the Tri State roster in 2022. In their place will be smooth-shooting swingman Dajuan Summers and Garlon Green, the brother of Bivouac Captain Gerald Green.
(Update: After Week 2, Tri State released Green and replaced him with 6’8 power forward Ray Nixon.)
