Mobley attended the University of Rhode Island and was selected in the second round of the 1998 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. Mobley and backcourt mate Steve Francis formed one of the NBA’s best scoring duos during their time together in Houston. Mobley later signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, and in 2006 helped lead them to their first playoff series victory since moving to California in 1978. Known for his cagey post-up game as well as his three-point prowess, Mobley averaged 16 ppg across 12 NBA seasons.
