The first overall pick in the 2019 BIG3 draft, White will return to Power as a co-captain for the 2023 season. A team-first player whose hustle and passing ability consistently impact the game, White pushed Power back into title contention under the guidance of Coach Nancy “Lady Magic” Lieberman, who knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a successful playmaking forward. White has been an outspoken advocate for the BIG3’s “Be Well” policy on mental health.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, White was the 2009 Mr. Basketball Minnesota and won two state championships before deciding to attend University of Minnesota and then Iowa State. At Iowa State, White was one of the most versatile and athletic players in the country. He ended up being named to the BIG-12 first team and was the only player in the nation to lead his team in the five major statistical categories (points, rebounds, blocks, steals, assists).
White was picked 16th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2012 NBA draft. However, his NBA career was cut short due to reasons involving a lack of mental health awareness and assistance within the league.
