One of the more productive players in BIG3 history, Mobley had a stellar season in 2019, ranking among the league’s top 10 in points (17.0) and assists (2.5) per game while tying for third in steals (1.0). He also pulled down 5 rebounds a game and had a strong effort in Power’s Week 5 victory over the Triplets—the only loss the eventual champions would suffer all season.
Mobley – a.k.a. the “Cat” – scored the game winner in the 2018 BIG3 championship game and was an integral part of Power’s championship run. His role shifted from 2017 to 2018 due to Corey Maggette coming back from injury, but it didn’t change his ability to score or facilitate in Coach Lieberman’s system.
Mobley attended the University of Rhode Island and was selected in the second round of the 1998 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. Mobley and backcourt mate Steve Francis formed one of the NBA’s best scoring duos during their time together in Houston. Mobley later signed with the Los Angeles Clippers and in 2006 helped lead them to their first playoff series victory since moving to California in 1978. Known for his cagey post-up game as well as his three-point prowess, Mobley averaged 16 ppg. across 12 stellar NBA seasons.
