Kenyon Martin Coach

Kenyon Martin will make his coaching debut for his former team season 3. Martin led Trilogy to an undefeated season in 2017. He played in five games and finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists, but his leadership alongside then-coach Rick Mahorn was his real strength.

Martin joined the BIG3 after a high-profile NBA career that spanned 15 seasons. He was a standout for the New Jersey Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks. Martin was the first overall pick of the 2000 NBA Draft, taken by the Nets. He helped lead the Nets to a history-making 2001-02 season. Martin briefly left the NBA for the Chinese Basketball League, playing for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers. He later returned to play for the Clippers, Knicks and Bucks.

Martin attended the University of Cincinnati where he led the Cincinnati Bearcats to a 27-6 record. The following summer he won gold with the United States team at the World University Games. In his final collegiate year, Martin led the team to a record of 29-4, which earned him the National College Player of the Year award. He holds the Bearcats’ records for career field goal percentage (.586) and blocked shots (292). On April 25, 2000, the Cincinnati Bearcats honored the 6ft 9 in power forward by retiring his number 4 jersey.
