James White returned to Trilogy as co-captain in 2021. He is the only player on the roster to have been with the team since the beginning of the BIG3 in 2017. White is also the only player to have won two BIG3 championships in league history. In the 2021 semi-finals, White scored 15 points and brought down 10 rebounds in the win.
White was a key contributor in Trilogy’s undefeated run to the 2017 league championship. He was named the 2017 BIG3 Defensive Player of the Year. In 2018, White averaged 9.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while also excelling on defense throughout the season.
The next season, White threw up even better numbers and demonstrated defensive dominance. Averaging 14.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, he placed within the league’s top ten players in points, rebounds and blocks.
Nicknamed “Flight 75” for his athleticism and dunking ability, White was the 31st overall draft pick in 2006, selected by the Portland Trail Blazers. White played parts of three seasons in the NBA, with the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks. He also played professionally overseas in Turkey, Russia, Italy and Iran.
In college, White played one season at the University of Florida before transferring to the University of Cincinnati, where he became a three-year starter and was the Bearcats’ scoring leader (15.9 ppg) as a senior in 2005-06.
