Josh Powell, a two-time NBA champion, returns for a third campaign with the Killer 3s and the BIG3 and for a second run as co-captain.
In 2018, Powell had the third highest field goal percentage in the BIG3 with .588, and his next season with the Killer 3s was also impressive. Powell averaged 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in 2019. He had a well-rounded performance in the championship game defeat to the Triplets, with four points, two rebounds an assist and a blocked shot. He also knocked down three three-pointers and a four-point field goal.
Powell played eight seasons in the NBA, where he was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers as they won back-to-back championships in 2009-10.
After two years as a standout college player with N.C. State, Powell briefly played professionally in Russia before coming back to the NBA, signing with the Dallas Mavericks in 2005. In addition to playing for the Mavs and Lakers, Powell played for the Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, L.A. Clippers and Atlanta Hawks. In 316 career NBA games, Powell averaged 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
