Entering his first season in the BIG3, Royce White was taken with the first overall pick in the 2019 BIG3 Draft.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, White was the 2009 Mr. Basketball Minnesota and won two state championships before deciding to attend University of Minnesota and then Iowa State. At Iowa State, White was one of the most versatile, athletic players in the country. He’d end up being named to the BIG-12 first team and would be the only player in the nation to lead his team in the five major statistical categories (points, rebounds, blocks, steals, assists).
White would be picked 16th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2012 NBA draft. But, his NBA career would be cut short due to reasons surrounding a lack of mental health awareness and assistance around the league.
