Will Bynum will return as co-captain of Bivouac for his second BIG3 season. In his rookie year Bynum was an offensive force, averaging 18.2 points per game to rank third among all players. He also handed out 2.8 assists per game, the league’s sixth-best clip. Bynum came up big in Bivouac’s victory over 3’s Company in the fifth-place playoff game, with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists.
Bynum was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended the University of Arizona and later, Georgia Tech. Bynum was a leader for the Yellow Jackets, scoring a record 35 points in a semifinal win over North Carolina and breaking Tech’s ACC tournament record in that metric. He has emerged as one of Georgia Tech’s top scorers over the last two decades.
Bynum was undrafted in the 2005 NBA draft and played both overseas and in the NBA until 2008, when he joined the Detroit Pistons. He spent most of his NBA career with the Pistons, where he was also teammates with fellow Bivouac Josh Smith.
